Hey,
We have excellent news!
It has always been our goal to offer affordable shipping options for SANDSARA so it was accessible to anyone in the world. This is especially challenging because SANDSARA is a relatively heavy and delicate product. We had a great solution working with a great partner that offered affordable and reliable shipping worldwide, but the great success of our campaign (Thanks to you!) allowed us to explore more options and I’m glad to let you know that we’ve found an even better solution that would result in lower shipping cost across the board as well as a much more reliable fulfillment and customs clearance.
Here are the details depending on where you are located:
For our backers from North America:
We will ship all your packages directly from our manufacturing facility to California; from there, then about half of the orders will ship to our second US warehouse on the East Coast. Your order will be fulfilled from the warehouse that is closest to you. This way, we reduced the shipping cost significantly for you, and you’ll receive your SANDSARA with fast and reliable service.
We’ll distribute all our North American backers using this option, including Canada and Latin America.
For our backers from Europe:
Custom officers might give a hard time to products coming from outside the European Union, causing delays, increasing the duties costs, and complicating the process for you. So, we’ll take care of that! We’ll import everything to our partners’ warehouse in Ireland. We’ll take care of the clearance process, and then send it to you. The shipping price is slightly reduced, and the process will certainly be smoother for you.
IMPORTANT NOTE!! The shipping charge of Backerkit already includes the VAT. This is important because it lets us keep it at a fixed 20% rate. If we sent the packages directly from Asia to each backer, you would have to pay the VAT once it arrives in your country. Those charges might go from 20% up to 50% depending on the customs office of each country. Besides, the import charges are already covered by us on the port, so you’ll receive your package as a shipment from within the EU, and won’t have to pay any duty fee. This way, there won’t be extra costs once you receive your order.
Another advantage is that all orders will be inspected once they arrive in Dublin so that the customs process will be much faster. This option only makes sense thanks to the big number of orders from the EU, so thanks again!
For our backers from Africa, Asia, and Oceania:
For you, the original shipping plan is the best option, so your orders will ship from our main warehouse in Asia. Your shipping prices are similar to what we had estimated during the campaign. We won’t charge you tax ourselves, because it varies a lot from country to country, so those might be charged once the product is delivered.
The smoke test for the Backerkit surveys was sent a couple of days ago to 100 backers chosen randomly, thanks a lot for your help answering it and for your feedback. We have reviewed it, and we’ll send it to the rest of you this morning. In that survey, you’ll be able to include all the extra pieces you want or upgrade your SANDSARA with our fantastic add ons.
You will also be able to change your shipping address and continue to be able to do so until we are a few weeks from shipping, so if you are not sure yet where you want to receive it, you still have time to decide, we will let you know when we are about to lock the system.

Our campaign ended almost two weeks ago, and it's been crazy! All our teams are working super hard to give you the best product and experience ever. If you have any questions or feedback, please send us a message, and we'll be happy to help.
Right now, our fulfilling squad is laser-like focus on finding the best shipping choice for all of you, and they have been checking other options to reduce the shipping prices and customs duties. It seems we have a pretty good alternative, but we want to confirm everything, so we really need your help to complete the quick survey we sent you through Kickstarter. IT IS NOT THE POST-CAMPAIGN SURVEY; it is a tool to make sure you receive the best shipping experience.

What's next?
Payments
Kickstarter will charge cards in the following 7 days. Kickstarter can’t do much about failed cards, the best way to fix it is direct with your bank, we will help you in any way we can to resolve payment issues as fast as possible.
If your pledge was declined, look for the "Fix payment" button in the banner at the top of your screen on the Kickstarter website. There, you'll find how to change your card or retrying to process the payment.
Sometimes it is rejected by your bank, so we recommend you reach out to them and ask them to unblock the payment. Then, you can follow the steps above.
Survey
Within the next weeks, you will receive a survey from Backerkit. There you'll be able to add more pieces to your order, confirm it, pay the shipping, and enter your address. You can also upgrade your SANDSARA and include all the add ons you want here!
Production
One of the greatest things about Kickstarter is that you get a chance to share the whole experience with your backers, so we will keep you updated on our manufacturing and shipping progress. The best is yet to come!
